CORNS / CALLUSES/PLANTAR WARTS
Corns, Calluses & Plantar Warts:
What You Need to Know
Corns, calluses, and plantar warts are common foot conditions caused by pressure, friction, or viral infections:
- Corns are small, circular areas of thickened skin that usually form on the toes due to pressure from ill-fitting shoes.
- Calluses are broader, flatter areas of thickened skin, typically found on the soles or palms, caused by repeated friction or pressure.
- Plantar warts are painful growths on the soles of the feet caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV). They often appear with tiny black dots and may be mistaken for calluses.
